The Grasslands Trail is a lovely way to observe the fascinating plant and animal life found in the grasslands without disturbing this sensitive ecosystem. There are many stops of interest along the way, including spotting birds of prey at the raptor pole, viewing fluffy marmots at Marmot City, telling time with the Analemmatic Sundial, and looking for salamander nymphs in the Norah Foord Pond Learning Centre.
Allan Brooks Nature Centre is a location for the North Okanagan Naturalist Club Blue Bird Nest Box Program,
where we house several bird boxes onsite in hopes of helping the declining population. There are many song-bird species that call the Nature Centre home, and you are almost guaranteed to experience incredible bird sights and sounds!
In 2021, there were 4 new trail head signs and 8 new interpretive signs installed along the trail that provide interesting facts about the grasslands flora and fauna
